And we can see the “softer” side of Lars under that hard shell. It’s a bit of an opposites attraction romance, but it’s also really Joss who is discovering who she really is as an individual and as a couple. They fit like a glove and brought out the best in each other. But I also learned never to doubt Layla and her abilities, and she didn’t disappoint. When I got into this book, I really couldn’t imagine how Lars and Joss would work as a couple. But Layla takes the time to bring us back to our old friends, family, and community that were built throughout this series, giving us a solidly built world that we feel like a part of. Of course, deep down, every book is about a couple, and it’s a romance without a doubt. It doesn’t matter how much time passes between books, partly because I re-read and re-listen to the series often, but also because it’s like going back and visiting old friends. I was fortunate to find that with Layla and the Hyde series in particular. Sometimes as a reader you get lucky and find an author who writes the kind of books and style you love.

Although it can be read on its own, it is highly recommended that you read the other books in the series. Not necessarily emotionally mature, but at least 18 years of age or older. Warning: This book is intended for an adult audience. I didn’t care how long it took, I made her mine and I would never let her go.Įxcept for the cute kindergarten teacher… He wasn’t the only one with a growing obsession. It would be selfish to draw her to my evil.īecause to tell the truth, he had fallen for Joss from the first smile. It’s none of your business to wonder at his suppressed madness. Mine was the strip club drama, broken hands and working too many hours to fix the dumpster fire my cousin left me. Her life consisted of cupcakes, hand turkeys and working too many hours to pay off the mortgage her ex-fiancé left her. I really wanted to make her my good girl. An age-appropriate, praise-filled, sinfully hot romance where opposites definitely attract.
